I was finally able to convince my lunch cohort to try out Roy's in La Jolla. I had actually been told that their chocolate souffle was the best around. Since I was told this while eating the chocolate explosion from Ruth's Chris, I found the statement to be bold--the answer had to be known. I have to say, I was quite impressed. Keep in mind, it takes a while to prepare (about 15-20 minutes). But it's worth the wait. The melty chocolate center oozes across the plate after disturbing the delicate outer crust, mixing with the raspberry sauce and ice cream. Delicious! The rest of the lunch was good, too. I had the lobster potstickers and Kahlua Pig Po Boy. Both very good selections. I would recommend Roys on a day where you've got some cash burning a hole in you pocket...it is a bit pricey.
