Well, the Cohen Restaurant Group has added a new eatery to their portfolio. Not only that, but this is rare repeat of an existing concept. For those not familiar, the "Strip Club" is a restaurant where patrons are allowed (forced) to cook their own entrees on one several community grills placed around the restaurant. To be honest, I'm not a fan of the idea. Standing around a grill with a bunch of people who know nothing of safe food handling doesn't appeal to me. Not to mention the fact that I'm in a restaurant...cook my steak, damn it! At any rate, unlike the Gaslamp location, this one serves lunch (and even cooks if for you). I figured I'd give it a go. The interior is dark (they really play on the "strip club" motif), but the vibe is cool. They've even got a lounge area where you can play pool and sit on comfy-looking couches. You have to walk through a service area to get there, though. For lunch, I got the Sassy Burger; admittedly, my hopes moderate. I have been to the Gaslamp location and wasn't a fan. I have to admit, though, I was really impressed. The burger was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. In fact, one of the better burgers I've had in SD. Service was friendly, and the girls were dressed to go along with the strip-club motif...sexily. I'll have to get back for a happy hour to see what the place looks with some people in it.
