Grassfields Food & Spirits

Got a chance to try Grassfields for the first time on my most recent trip back to the east coast. It's an interesting spot located in the rural little town of Andover. It's fairly quaint and the overall concept takes you back a decade or two. There's also a very family/townie feel to the place.

For dinner, I got the steak tips and scallops. The scallops were baked with breadcrumbs and butter (a preparation I haven't seen here in SD). They were cooked well, but the abductor mussel was present on two of them, which is a personal pet peeve of mine. The steak tips were good but seemed to be tenderized in a high acid marinade (a technique used when the ingredients are less expensive). I didn't mind...this is how we prepared them at Beerworks when I worked there.

All in all, the meal was better than average, but when you consider the incredibly reasonable prices...the value goes way up. This place would certainly appeal to a bawler on a budget who's trolling around the Merrimack Valley.

Went there and caught the end of the lunch menu(3:45 pm) Had bake crabmeat dish with pilaf. Service was attentive and menu was priced reasonable . Would go back
