Im not a fan of sushi, but I still gave Ichiban 4 stars for food. There are a few rolls that I like (TJ and Baja) and they have very good soups and rice or noodle bowls as well. We go there pretty regularly, and Im always happy with the food, I know its easy to make, but their miso is excellent. The place is casual and can get a line forming on the weekends, but it moves quickly and I think it is worth a bit of a wait, usually about 10 minutes.

Cheap sushi in PB!? Yes, my dear friends - it does exist. Ichiban P.B. is on the same block as some of my other favorites in the area (Hoboken, Pasta Espresso, World Curry), and carries the same kind of local eatery vibe. It's definitely not a high-end kind of place, with bench seating and a small sushi bar - yet the place is always packed and/or has a line during dine-in only happy hours (noon-2 and 5-7). They have four daily specials in a display case at crazy low prices (typically under $6 for things such as dragon rolls or bento boxes), and one can eat their for under $10 with a drink and a tip. Many other rolls are offered for similar prices during the happy hour times. The staff is always quick and helpful, although the initial line-up to order first is a little daunting, and the menu is not put together well for the first time diner. The other Japanese fare is on about the same level as the sushi. Don't go expecting the sushi to rival your favorite place, but the amazing variety along with the rock bottom prices keep you and your wallet full.
