There were 6 of us and we ended up sitting on the back half of a 12-top. We tried several dishes...too many to recap here, but almost everything was perfectly prepared. Who knew that octopus could be so delicious. Other highlights were the pork belly, the crab cake, the scallops with duck confit, the Brussels sprouts with sausage, and the chocolate cheesecake pudding. We tried more than 15 dishes, and all of them were impressive if not perfect.
The atmosphere is high-energy and vibrant. Burlap does have a reputation of being a cougar magnate (this is not uncommon for the area), and they live up to that as well. Service was fun and friendly. Part of the concept is that they don't bring out courses together...everything arrives when it's ready. Part of the Asian half of the fusion we were told. Whatever...if everything you bring tastes that good, do what you gotta do.
Based on my first experience, Burlap is awesome. I'll be back with bells on.
