I love their burgers! Especially the bare lil' lamb which has blue cheese, beets, and mint. The Blind Chookie is really good also, but I would rather get a burger than a chicken sandwich. The price is a bit high for burgers (about 10-12$), but I think they are worth it!

I've been a fan of Bare Back, but mostly of their Pacific Beach location. They opened this one up a while ago and brought one of their better cooks with them (no offense meant to the guys back in Pacific Beach). Oddly, I DID actually notice a slight difference in their fries - they were better here. I had the Hogs & Heifers, one of my favorites, and it was just as good as I knew it would be. Their ingredients are always fresh and tasty and the various burgers are all awesome in their own way. I always watch out for their happy hours. Try out their Bare Back Amber if you're up for the beers. Hodad's gets all the big press for burgers in San Diego, but if given the choice, I'd come here. It's easier to get a seat and the burgers are better. Then again, no license plates with dirty phrases on them.

Bare Back Grill brings a little bit of that "beach bar" feel to San Diego's gaslamp quarter. You know the characteristics...a bar that exists both inside and outside the building. An army of cute little waitresses with the shortiest-shorts money can buy. Surf videos on the TV's and the prevalent buzz of fruit flies, trying ever-so-hard to land in your beer. My kind of place.

Oh, by the way, this establishment can also make a damn fine burger. Grain-fed beef, locally grown vegetables and freshly baked bread really make a difference. Although it took a long time, this dish was well worth the wait. The beef was tender and the bun was amazing. I went with the Kiwilango. My only regret was that there was too much flavor from the accoutriments. Everything was so fresh, next time, I'm going as plain as they've got.

If you're looking for a burger, give this place a try. It's one of the best I've had since moving to SD.
