Anyway, after spilling most of the water on the table, I ordered up some edibles. To start, we shared the small meat and cheese plate. I was pushing for a large, but as it turned out, small was just right. There was a pretty good variety of items , including 6 types of cheeses, a few types of meats and pate's, some honeycomb and a Fig Newton-like triangular schmear (which I later learned was made from figs...go figure). Pretty good stuff here. I've had better cheese plates, but this one certainly didn't disappoint. Oh, and their standard bread offering is excellent--fresh and grainy with a rustic feel.
For dinner, I went with a special. It was braised steak stuffed with spinach, onions, cornichons and a variety of seasonings. On the side came some roasted potatoes and zucchini that was prepped to look like sushi (classy touch). All in all, the dish was good, but there were a ton of flavors happening that didn't really compliment each other. It wasn't bad, by any means...it just represented a plate where the whole was not greater than the sum if its parts.
We bowed out of dessert, but there were several interesting mousse dishes on the menu. The service was interesting, too. At certain times during the meal, there were a veritable army of people adding or removing plates from our table. Nice touch, BB.
Bleu Boheme is a pretty cool spot. Decent food and service, and a great atmosphere. I'm not in any great rush to get back, but I'll get there in time.
