Of the commercial, fast food, Mexican chains that you've heard of...Rubio's is by far the best (sorry, Taco Bell, you're good too). This location is nestled in the bosom of the UTC food court and is one of 2 places guaranteed to have a line (that food court is rough). I usually make it over here at least once a week for lunch.

As a rule, I typically go with the cheese quesadilla and taco with a random protein. I think the world famous fish is my favorite, but it's nice to mix it up.

Now don't get me wrong...it doesn't take much time or effort to find an authentic Mexican taco stand with 4 times the quality and half the cost here in San Diego, but as an alternate...Rubios isn't a terrible option.
