Day 3 of this festive event brought me out to The Fleetwood. This place is more well known for its night life, but I figured I'd give the food a whirl. Since pretty much every place in town is featuring a high-value set menu, why not go that route. I started with a beet salad (one of my favorites). It was a nice presentation...served de-constructed and drizzled with dressing. I think this was the first one I've tried that didn't have nuts.
For a main course, I couldn't say no to the braised short rib. Credit where credit is due, they did a great job. The flavor was good and it wasn't over-braised (often times, this dish will have no texture whatsoever). To finish up, I went with a creme brule. Again I was pleasantly surprised by the good texture and perfect level of sweetness.
Check back tomorrow for day 4 of "Jeff gets fat week".
