As luck would have it, they were running their "restaurant week" menu...a three course prix fixe menu for $30 plus $14 more for 2 wines. How could I resist. I went with a tomato soup (with fennel accents) and grilled cheese sliders to start. The soup was OK (although it did conjure up images of pasta sauce) and the sliders were good. It looked like they were pressed in a George Forman grill, but that didn't diminish the flavor.
For and entree, I went with the chili spiced pork and a side of prosciutto mac and cheese. The pork was great; cooked medium, it was perfectly moist and didn't get lost in the chilis. The mac and cheese was a nice treat, too. The use a fat ziti for the noodles and the cheese sauce was delicate, but had some complex flavors. That brought us to dessert.
I tried a plate that was a mix of banana lollipops and carrot cake sandwiches. All in all, not too impressed. The lollipops were OK, but soooo much chocolate was overwhelming. I'm not a big carrot cake guy in general; this was probably great, but just not for me.
Marble room is a cool spot. The atmosphere is nice, they've got gigantic cushy booths that would be great for 4-6 people. Prices are super reasonable for what you get...at least on restaurant week.
