Pho La Jolla

There aren't a million options for Pho in the Mira Mesa/UTC area. Today, we decided to hit up an unexplored option. I haven't really tried a Pho place that really stood out (with the possible exception of Pho Ca Dao). In fact, I've sometimes wondered if they're all a part of one big chain just because the experience is so commoditized. OK, I don't actually think that, but you get the point.

Pho La Jolla admirably stays safely among the pack. I went with some tofu spring roles to start, and then went with a regular-sized #3 (rare steak...the safest dish on the menu). Flavors of the soup were good; my one complaint may be that the steak pieces were buried under the noodles, so by the time I got to them, they were well-done steak.

There was a section of the menu that I will go back to explore, which is the Vietnamese sandwiches. From what I could tell, it was various ingredients from the dishes served on a French baguette. I'll report back when I get a chance to try.
