Being a fan of variety, I tried out the combo, with an add on slider and white rice. My food was ready within 2 minutes; this is likely due to the fact that there was a guy working a small grill surface just turning and burning kabobs. We grabbed a table outside as there are only 3 seats inside. The food was pretty good. The chicken was nice and tender, and the slider was great (it was served on a Hawaiian sweet roll with cole slaw...good stuff). The rice and slaw that came on the side were also really high quality. I was less impressed with the quality of the steak, but it was still pretty good. Beware - that unmarked bottle of red sauce on the table is not BBQ...it's Sriracha. Had I known, I wouldn't have been quite so heavy handed.
If you watch Kitchen Nightmares, you'll notice that Gordon Ramsay is always preaching the theme of smaller menus with less qualities. Surf Brothers has adopted that mantra ad nauseam, and with great results.
