The Regal Beagle specializes in two things...high quality sausage offerings and beer. Still trying to respect the work I've done on my health the past month, I kept it light. I ordered the Mixed Greens Salad and for $5 more, added a cajun sausage on the side. Now, the Beagle has in interesting ordering system where you order at the bar, and they give you a name that is a throwback to 80'sish pop culture. On this day, I was Julia Gulia. I was called to the kitchen hoping to pick up my order, only to learn that they were almost out of salad and couldn't give me a full order. Oh well, I'm trying to lose weight, anyway.
Both the salad and sausage were quite tasty. The salad was very sweet, being heavy on cranberries and candied walnuts, and was a nice contrast to the spiciness of thee sausage. All in all pretty good.
A few things to be aware of: it get's pretty crowded in there and parking around that area SUCKS. That said, the food is great and the beer selection is varied and interesting (I went with a Fuller's London Porter). A nice addition to the already robust San Diego pub scene.
