One of Traverse City's best places for happy hour. An Asian fusion restaurant / bar, Red Ginger serves up great food in an exciting, hip atmosphere. Best bets during happy hour are the steamed dumplings and shrimp tempura roll. They also have a decent saki list, especially for up North.

This restaurant sits in one of the most beautiful locations in Northern Michigan. That alone is worth the price of appetizers and cocktails. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, unlike a lot of restaurants that hire seasonal teenagers. The food is quite good, using fresh local ingrediants, although perhaps a bit "buttery" for my tastes. That is probably because the restaurant has a definate French slant, where butter and cream are staples. Dinner prices are high, more than I like to pay regularly, but the location, views, and overall quality will keep me coming back, especially during a good sunset.

This is a hidden gem of a restaurant on the Mission Peninsula. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but the food is some of the best you can get around TC. You will notice that many of the patrons are older - as in above 60. Oh well, that can be expected in the finer restaurants up north.

A friend and I saddled up to the bar around 8pm. On a weeknight, that's when the crowd starts dispersing. The bartender was a friendly, unassuming kind of fellow who kept the beer coming quick and steady. I like the way they gladly give you samples of the drafts, too. Unfortunately, there were no cute girls to be seen. Maybe True North is stealing them. As usual, good times.

Alright, I love this restaurant. Is it the free corkage or half price bottle nights? Is it the quaint and friendly atmosphere? How about the fresh and varied selection of tasty food? Sounds wonderful, doesn't it? That's why it's one of my top picks for restaurants in San Diego.

I like this restaurant. The atmosphere is unpretentious and has character. There are several good beers on tap and the wine list is decent. What reallys stands out is the food. I have been there several times and usually try one of their seafood dishes. The chef is able to put together a medley of flavors using unique ingrediants and vegetables. The seafood is fresh and well prepared. Will definately go back.

The atmosphere was a bit stuffy for my taste and there were few people in the restaurant. Maybe this is just a sign of the current economy. If my friend didn't drag my in here, I would have passed. But there was ONE cute female there who happened to talk with me, so he is forgiven :)

The high - wine list by glass was excellent and they charged only double retail vs. 3 or 4x by other restaurants.

The low - price and quality. Look, when I order a $45 steak (filet), it better be good. Mine tasted like pot roast. Seriously.

So I don't plan to revisit this place. There was a steak house down the street that has prime aged filet for $25 and a better atmosphere. Pass on this a gawdy, boring, hotel restaurant.
